Saturday, April 5, 2014 @ 5:01 PM These updates are loooong overdue. Here's what I did for the weekWednesday Watched The Grand Budapest Hotel with Zi Xin before heading over to Hwa Chong to visit my juniors having strings practice :) Although it was sectionals it was good to visit the V2s again to say hello and niao some stuff Shawn says while coaching the section. The repertoire for the upcoming concert is fairly predictable (the usual pieces that people can identify with I suppose like St. Paul's Suite, Holberg Suite, etc.) except for the Disney medley that my juniors wrote! I'll visit sometime nearer the date to hear the full run through (if I'm lucky enough). Had dinner with the cello section (with the addition of Alvin and Kenny) and we learnt alot more about how crazy the cellists really are. Thursday Finally got to spend some time with Alicia who's been so busy working at Uniqlo. The day was really productive; we watched Divergent first which was REALLY GOOD. A lot better than I expected since I was anticipating the movie to be the first installation of a series akin to the twilight saga or the hunger games. Thereafter, we had lunch and did some really productive shopping at Uniqlo (extra discounts because Al is an employee YASSS) and buying ukuleles (one blue one for my teaching supervisor's son and one for Alicia herself). We then had tea at Smoothie King before we went home at around 5 in the evening. Friday I went back to surprise my students at STC! I couldn't believe how happy they were to see me and hearing "MISS FOO!" all over again made my heart melt. Hugged so many of my students and I really didn't want to leave. Honestly I felt like a celebrity for the duration I was at STC because many students wanted to take photos with me and I was more than happy to join them.
