Monday, October 7, 2013 @ 8:15 PM Sorry guys this update is loooong overdue.Anyway I wanted to document what happened during the day of my A level practical last wednesday because many good things (and some unpleasant things) happened and I want to share them with you guys! The day started really great and I was not expecting one of my favourite people, Jasmine, to come to the music room to pass me a note and some Reese's chocolate to wish me good luck (: I was a little thrown off when a few NJ music people started strolling into the classroom because all of them were going to hear my pieces but I suppose the fact that I knew a few of them made things less stressful. I was really happy with my solo piano pieces. There's this thing about being one with your instrument, and I felt so at peace at the piano. It was really really amazing and I couldn't be more thankful for all the support my piano teachers and God has given me. Violin wasn't as smooth sailing. First, my accompanist did not put the piano lid down after my solo recital so there is this huge risk that he could have overpowered me while he was accompanying me on the piano. My peg (G string) also turned a bit during the piece but I didn't really need that string so it wasn't that bad. The string still sounded like G but it was a little flat and it bothered me slightly. But I'm really grateful it wasn't totally out of tune. Furthermore, other aspects went pretty well so I can't complain, really. Learning music is a blessing, and I'm so glad that I can share this blessing with other people, even if it's just the examiners (: |
